Growing up in Venezuela allowed me to personally witness some of the most serious problems that society currently faces, and this became the main reason to focus on diverse forms of inequality. This interest has evolved to encompass various aspects of social, spatial and environmental justice, including the degradation and fragmentation of contemporary urban phenomena, their boundary conditions and uncertain future. Since the beginning, my research has spanned different scales, involving architecture, urban design, and urbanism to find ways of including and improve the living conditions of the most disadvantaged populations and their sustainable relationship with the environment.
